Bishkek, July 23, 2024 . / Kabar / . Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov received Executive Director of the Project Block of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development Andrei Shirokov.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that in cooperation with the EFSD it is expected to implement projects in priority areas. For example, in order to provide drinking water to 32 settlements in Osh Oblast, a project with a total amount of $60 million will be implemented. In addition, projects to improve the irrigation system of the republic, purchase of ambulances are being worked out.
"As part of the implementation of the planned project "Reconstruction of the Aral-Suusamyr highway" it is planned to reconstruct about 80 km of the road, which connects the most important international transport corridors of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek-Osh and North-South. Successful implementation of the project will accelerate the socio-economic development of Naryn and Talas Oblasts of the republic, as well as remote areas of Chui Oblast, reduce time costs and significantly improve road safety in the country," Akylbek Zhaparov said.
In turn, Executive Director of the Project Block of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development Andrey Shirokov noted the importance of early implementation of joint projects and expressed readiness for further development of fruitful cooperation.
The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further interaction.
As part of the meeting, a ceremony was held to sign an agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Eurasian Development Bank on the construction of general education organizations on a grant basis. The document was signed by Minister of Education and Science Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva and Executive Director of the Project Block of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development Andrei Shirokov.
This agreement provides for the grant procedure, under which EDB provides construction of 9 general education organizations in the Kyrgyz Republic, their material and technical equipment and transfer to the Kyrgyz Republic.
