Bishkek, Dec. 26, 2023. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov received Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov.
The sides discussed the implementation of the project for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
Akylbek Zhaparov noted that a diverse strategic partnership at a high level has developed between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. He said that the project for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is the largest transport and infrastructure project that will positively affect the economic development of the two countries.
In turn, the minister of transport of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for its active participation in the process of preparing this project.
A feasibility study for the the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was developed which was approved in June of this year. The parties are currently discussing the best options for the financing model for the construction of the railway.
