Bishkek, June 19, 2024. / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov spoke about mineral reserves in Kyrgyzstan at the 10th MINEX Central Asia Mining and Exploration Forum in Bishkek.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that 95% of the territory of Kyrgyzstan is made up of mountains, the depths of which are rich in minerals, not only gold and coal, but also iron - more than 5 billion tons in ore in just one section of one deposit, titanium, as well as rare earth metals, which currently have high economic demand (europium, zirconium, cesium, lanthanide group, etc.).
“For example, I can say that the predicted reserves of titanomagnetite in only one area of the deposit are about 20 million tons (Kyzyl-Ompol), and in another deposit the reserves of rare earth metals, including more than 21 elements, are about 60 thousand tons (Kutessay- 2). These reserves were recorded more than 50 years ago, and there is an opinion among authoritative geologists and scientists that these indicators with more detailed geological exploration using new technological solutions can increase significantly. We invite partners to joint geological exploration work and are waiting for investors in this promising sector of the economy – mining,” he said.
