Tashkent, May 2, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov, as part of his working trip to Uzbekistan, took part in the plenary meeting of the III Tashkent International Investment Forum.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev opened the forum, wishing the success conducting of the event, which was attended by more than 2.5 thousand people.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that in recent years there has been a high tourist flow between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a twofold increase in mutual trade turnover between the countries. According to him, work is currently underway to increase trade turnover to USD 2 billion.
During the forum, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers will speak at a panel session with a report on the overall energy potential of Kyrgyzstan and talk about the construction project of Kambarata HPP-1.
The forum is attended by senior officials of a number of states, such as the Chairman of the Parliament of Singapore Sia Kian Peng, Vice President of Turkiye Cevdet Yilmaz, representatives of a number of international organizations and financial institutions, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the UN Economic Commission for Europe, the International Development Fund OPEC.
The Tashkent International Investment Forum is one of the largest events not only for Tashkent, but also for the region as a whole. The forum program, which was attended by representatives of 93 countries, included a plenary session, more than 50 expert discussion meetings, including panel sessions, round tables and B2B negotiations.
