Bishkek, April 22, 2024 / Kabar/. The working visit of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov to a number of cities in the United States of America has ended.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic led by Akylbek Zhaparov took part in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington.
On the sidelines of the spring meetings, meetings were held with the leadership of the World Bank, IMF, USAID, American-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Investment Bank, International Finance Corporation, Franklin and Templeton investment company, Citibank international bank, Rotschild company & Co, International Republican Institute (IRI), consulting company Alvarez & Marsal.
The signing ceremony of the following bilateral documents took place in Washington:
- an agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association to provide the Kyrgyz Republic with financing for the implementation of the project “Development of Sustainable Agri-Food Clusters” in the amount of US$35 million;
- agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Development Association on the issue of the second additional financing for the “Sustainable Development of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project” in the amount of US$ 7.64 million, financed by the World Bank.
As part of the negotiations, agreements were reached on cooperation within the framework of the project for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and attracting investments in other areas.
In addition, as part of the working visit in Washington, a ceremony was held to sign a memorandum of understanding on further steps of cooperation in the field of transformation of education between the Cabinet of Ministers and Google Corporation. Head of the Cabinet Akylbek Zhaparov presented the Altyn Kazyk school education system transformation program to development partners.
The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Akylbek Zhaparov, held a series of meetings with representatives of a number of technology corporations.
In particular, they visited the head office of Apple Inc. in San Francisco, the headquarters of Nvidia Corporation, the office of the American corporation Hewlett-Packard Company, and also held a meeting with venture investor and entrepreneur Tim Draper.
Another important event during the visit was the opening of the High Technology Park of the Kyrgyz Republic in Silicon Valley (HTP House in Silicon Valley).
