Bishkek, April 30, 2021 . / Kabar / . A conflict that happened on April 28 continued today was provoked by the Tajik side. It was obvious that they were preparing for this conflict, because trenches were dug and everything was prepared for it, political scientist Mars Sariyev said commenting on the aggravation on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, during which weapons were used.

The expert said the conflict was provoked by a Kamaz truck, which loaded gravel from the Golovnoi water distribution station, cameras were installed deliberately by people of Tajikistan.

Sariyev recalled that the last serious conflict was also provoked by the Tajik side, when a flag of Tajikistan was deliberately hung out on Kyrgyz territory.

"There was a cement pedestal, and the Tajik flag was hung right there,” he said.

According to Mars Sariyev, the fact that the Tajik side began massive shelling first on April 28, while the Kyrgyz side was refraining, and a mortar shelling with an attempt to shell five Kyrgyz outposts started on April 29, which caused retaliatory fire, as well as the capture of the Tajik border outpost by Kyrgyz special forces Boru, indicates an obvious intentional escalation of the conflict.

The reason for this, according to the expert, is that the Tajik side fears that the Kyrgyz side will start building water reservoirs, and then the regulation of river flow will be completely under the control of Kyrgyzstan.

"Therefore, they set the task of completely seizing the Golovnoi water intake facility and thus provoking the Kyrgyz side to negotiate already with a certain position of force. I think that the Tajik side, to some extent, may have been provoked by a third party. I mean a global player. Therefore, I believe that soon everything will become clear "Qui prodest", which global player has played on this conflict," concluded Mars Sariyev.
