Bishkek, Jan.27, 2020. /Kabar/. “All appropriate measures are taken for the prevention and detection of coronavirus disease,” Secretary of Kyrgyzstan’s Security Council Damir Sagynbayev said today, Jan.27 during the inspection of the checkpoint at the Manas International Airport and Akzhol-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoint.

“To date, no one fact of infection has been registered in the Kyrgyz Republic, thermal imaging cameras, located at all checkpoints at the border with China and international airports are working, which determine the symptoms of the disease,” he added.

In addition, Deputy Head of the Office of the Kyrgyz President Almambet Saliyev visited the Tokmok-Avtodorozhnyi, Ken-Bulun-Avtodorozhnyi and Ak-Tilek-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoints with similar inspection.

"We checked the status of sanitary and quarantine stations with regard to preparedness for the prevention and detection of the disease that is spreading in China. I can definitely say that no cases of coronavirus infection have been registered throughout Kyrgyzstan," Damir Sagynbayev said, recalling that the Health Ministry of the country and other relevant bodies provide information about this on a permanent basis.

As he noted, since Jan. 1 this year in Bishkek and throughout the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, reinforced sanitary quarantine stations have been deployed, which operate at checkpoints bordering China, at Manas Airport in Bishkek and in Osh.

In addition, all checkpoints bordering the People's Republic of China have been closed since Jan.23 this year.

"This decision was taken due to New Year celebrations in China according to their calendar. Also, all flights between Kyrgyzstan and China, in particular, the main flight to Urumqi are stopped since Jan.24. This flight is closed till Jan. 31, 2020,” he noted.

Damir Sagynbayev added the Health Ministry’s operational headquarters has been established to monitor the situation throughout the country on a 24-hour basis.

Every checkpoint is hourly providing information on the condition of citizens arriving in Kyrgyzstan.
