Bishkek, June 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev issued an order on compulsory vaccination against COVID-19 among medical workers, Kabar News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Health Ministry.
The Department of Disease Prevention, State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis have been ordered to organize within one month mandatory vaccination of medical and other workers. It is also instructed to organize monitoring of post-vaccination state of workers.
Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29 using China-donated vaccine after receiving 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan received the first batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V in the amount of 20,000 doses on April 22.
Another 80,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine were delivered to the country on June 17.
In addition, 150,000 more doses of Chinese Sinopharm vaccine are expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan.
As of today, 109,703 people in Kyrgyzstan have been vaccinated against coronavirus, including 77,390 with the second shot.
