Bishkek, Nov. 24, 2017. /Kabar/. Public servants and municipal employees occupying high, senior, junior and junior administrative positions are required to master the Kyrgyz language at the basic level (A2) by 2019. Current decree was signed by Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, the website of the government reported.
Public servants should also learn the Kyrgyz language at a level not lower than:
- the average level (B1) - from 2020;
- above the average level (B2) - since 2021.
The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Education, by March 1, 2018, to develop methodological recommendations for teachers and textbooks for those who study the state language in accordance with the requirements of the system Kyrgyztest which determines the level of possession of the state language.
From March 1, 2018, testing on a wide scale of all public civil servants and municipal employees will start. Those who will know the state languages at the level of A2 are subject be tested again. And those who will know the state language below the basic level will be dismissed or their positions will be downgraded.
