Bishkek, June 27, 2024. /Kabar/. The Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is taking place in Almaty city of Kazakhstan.
The event is attended by representatives of multilateral development banks, international organizations, business, academia, professional associations and journalists, who gathered to exchange experiences, discuss current issues and outline ways for joint development within the Eurasian space.
The event is aimed at expanding partnership and exchanging practical experience in solving key challenges for the region, such as the water and energy balance, the development of transport and logistics routes and financial markets.
“We continue to create platforms for international dialogue to attract new investments in the Eurasian region and the countries of Central Asia. I am confident that the EDB Annual Meeting and Business Forum is an excellent opportunity to unite the efforts of multilateral development banks, international organizations and private businesses, exchange experience in project implementation, establish new contacts and expand cooperation in the field of sustainable financing,” said Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Board.
At the business forum, participants take part in the work of the sessions, which cover current issues of regional development:
Islamic finance in Central Asia;
Water, energy and food in Central Asia: partnerships and projects for sustainable development;
Eurasian transport framework: potential, problems, solutions;
EDB investment instruments: results and prospects;
Digital technologies and innovations for Eurasia;
Eurasian Economic Union: results and prospects for the implementation of investment projects.
As part of the EDB Annual Meeting and Business Forum, there will also be presentations of a report by EDB experts “Promoting high environmental and social standards in Central Asia: EDB experience and lessons learned”, as well as studies “Drinking water supply and sanitation in Central Asia” and “Eurasian transport framework "
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is a multilateral development bank that carries out investment activities in the Eurasian space.
