Almost 10 thsd prisoners serve sentence in colonies of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov.14, 2019. /Kabar/. 9 thousand 902 prisoners are serving their sentences in Kyrgyzstan’s colonies, First Deputy Chairman of the State Service for Punishments Execution (SSPE) Taalaibek Nuraliyev told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said 1 thousand 631 of them are in detention centers, while 2 thousand 31 of them are convicted in settlements colonies.

“The SSPE has 3 thousand 664 employees, 30% of whom are women. At present, the management of the SSEP is gradually addressing the issues of repairs in the buildings of the department, in prisons, etc.,” Nuraliyev said.
