At present, a total of 11,381 cases of HIV infection have been identified in the Kyrgyz Republic, of which 10,732 are citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
Sexual transmission of HIV prevails in the country - 53% (cumulative) (for 2021 - 82%) of cases. The largest number of cases is registered among people aged 25 to 45 years. In the structure of the disease out of every 10 people there are 6 men.
An anonymous online counseling from a doctor, psychologist, lawyer, and peer counselor through the Health and HIV free mobile app is launched in Kyrgyzstan.
The app will raise awareness about HIV and its diagnosis, improve adherence to antiretroviral therapy and provide access to online counseling, it guarantees user anonymity and confidentiality, and is available in Kyrgyz and Russian on iOS and Android platforms.
