Almost 120 drug crimes detected in Kyrgyzstan in 2020

Bishkek, Jan. 6, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan annually conducts a range of anti-drug prevention activities as part of Operation Mak-2020, the press service of the Service for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Kyrgyz Internal Ministry said on Wednesday.

Anti-drug activities are conducted under the coordination of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with the participation of forces and means of the State Committee for National Security, State Border Service, State Customs Service, State Service for Punishment's Execution.

In the period from March to December 2020 during the operation "Mak-2020", 119 drug crimes were revealed, 224 kg 682 grams of narcotic drugs and precursors were seized from illegal turnover, including heroin - 2 kg 296 grams, opium-27 grams, hashish-38 kg 947 grams, marijuana-76 kg 616 grams, cannabis-41 kg 216 grams, sulfuric acid-65 kg 80 grams, dimedrol tablets-10 000 pieces 500 grams and 3 kg mercury.

In addition, 16 smooth-bore weapons were withdrawn from illegal circulation.

During the "Kara-Kurai" operation within the operational preventive measure "Mak-2020", 1 thousand 262 hectares of land were examined, 547 hectares were found infected with wild hemp, 389 tons 920 kg of cannabis plants were cut and destroyed by burning.
