Bishkek, Jan.21, 2020. /Kabar/. Certification of roads of international, state and local importance using modern technologies has been carried out in Kyrgyzstan since 2018, Akbar Aitkuliyev, deputy director of the Production and Innovation Center (PIC) Public Institution said at the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
Roads’ certification involves the use of a special mobile laboratory equipped with modern equipment and software.
According to Aitkuliyev, this mobile laboratory will make it possible to examine the road indicators - GPS coordinates, International Roughness Index (IRI), clutch, rutting and to analyze the quality of the road built.
"In the future, the PIC’s passports will contribute to rational planning of road engineering works for construction, reconstruction and repair of roads and provide prompt information on the condition of roads in electronic and paper format.
Today the mobile road laboratory has inspected the technical condition of 2614 km of public roads," Aitkuliyev informed.
He added the Institution is working on the Data Collection and Establishment of Road Assets Management System project.
"The aim of the project is to plan road maintenance efficiently and allocate funds. As of 2019, under this project, 5800 km of roads of international, national and local importance have been surveyed and processed by the PIC,” the deputy director of the Institution concluded.
