Bishkek, May 12, 2020. /Kabar/. 4 thousand 554 landslides have been recorded across Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Of these, 1 thousand 186 threaten 543 settlements and 321 objects - roads, bridges, power lines. 2 thousand 503 dangerous zones and areas are registered on the banks of 3 thousand 103 rivers.
"Regional departments of the Emergency Ministry issued instructions to heads of rural districts to take special measures to prevent emergency situations and to resettle families living in hazardous zones.
In total, 4 thousand 290 prescriptions have been issued. 3 thousand 909 families live in dangerous areas of the country, including 2 thousand 406 families in Osh Oblast and 1 thousand 367 families in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast," the report says.
As of May 8, about 719 surveys had been conducted:
250 surveys in Osh Oblast, of which 160 are on landslide hazards. Data by regions of the oblast: 83 in Alai region, 47 in Uzgen region, 17 in Kara-Kuldzha, 8 in Kara-Suu and 5 in Nookat.
378 in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, including 280 landslide hazards. 248 in Suzak region, 25 in Aksy, and 7 in Bazar-Korgon.
In Batken Oblast of the republic - 62, 20 of which are landslide hazard areas.
In other regions - 29, 3 on landslide dangerous areas.
In Kyrgyzstan's Isfana town (Batken Oblast), on May 2 at about 6:30 p.m. hail had caused mudslide.
Mudslide passed through several streets, where the streams came out of ditches and flooded 20 houses with a garden. Also, a house in the village of Kara-Dyobyo has been flooded. No casualties have been reported.
The next day, May 3 at about 12:10 p.m. mudflow descended in Aksy region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
In the village of Jany-Jol rains caused landslides, which flooded the road, three shops and gardens of residents.
