Kyrgyzstan prepares for cold weather, deploying fuel bases and coal sales points

Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2020 /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, local self-government bodies and offices of governors are working on opening 768 fuel bases and points of coal sales in oblasts, Chairman of the country's State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Emil Osmonbetov told during a briefing Monday.

According to him, for today there is a preparation for the autumn-winter period. The ministry and departments of the republic hold tenders for the purchase of coal and conclude contracts for delivery.

"Bishkek city’s thermal power plant has already signed a contract to supply 700,000 tons of coal with Kyrgyz Komur (Kyrgyz Coal) state-owned enterprise, and tenders are being held for 600,000 tons of Tash Komur coal, 330,000 tones of imported coal and 400,000 tons of fuel oil," the chairman said.

In addition, Osmonbetov said the Osh thermal power plant also signed a contract with Kyrgyzneftegaz to supply 20,000 tons of fuel oil.
