Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2020 / Kabar /. The North-South alternative road is completed by 70%, Minister of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Berdaliev told at a press conference at the Kabar Agency.
He said that in 2020, before he pandemic, it was planned to lay 143 km of asphalt concrete pavement, due to the pandemic, this figure decreased to 51 km, and almost all projects are expected to lag from the construction schedule from 3 to 6 months.
“In 2020, due to investment projects, 93.2 km of asphalt concrete pavement was laid," the minister said.
Berdaliev noted that about 193 km of asphalt concrete pavement has been laid under the project "Alternative North-South Road" with a length of 433 km. “In addition, a tunnel with a length of 3.8 km and two overpass bridges with a total length of 1.4 km are under construction. It is planned that the construction work of the project will be completed by 2023,” he said.
