Bishkek, Jan.10, 2025. /Kabar/. In preparation for the visit of Kyrgyzstan’s minister of education and science to Pakistan, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan Avazbek Atakhanov held a meeting with Deputy Federal Minister of Education and Vocational Training of Pakistan Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani.
Atakhanov noted that Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations are developing consistently in the spirit of friendship and cooperation and are gradually gaining high momentum, including in the field of education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Currently, a large number of Pakistani citizens are studying in Kyrgyzstan in various educational programs, which makes this area the highest priority in bilateral cooperation.
Atakhanov also congratulated the leadership of Pakistan on the adoption of the National Economic Transformation Plan “Uraan Pakistan” for the period of 2024-2029, informing that Kyrgyzstan has also launched large-scale reforms in the educational system of the Kyrgyz Republic, taking into account international trends, designed to radically improve the quality of education, including through the transition to a 12-year school system.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the program of the Kyrgyz delegation's stay in the IRP to participate in the International Conference on Girls' Education in Muslim Communities, to be held on Jan. 11-12 in Islamabad, as well as topical issues of mutual cooperation, including the organization of mutual visits in the field of education and science at the highest and high levels, improvement of practical cooperation at the interagency and inter-university levels.
Wani expressed gratitude for the initiative to hold this meeting and also highly appreciated the level of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan and expressed readiness to provide the necessary assistance in its further strengthening and deepening. He spoke about the goals and objectives of the international conference, noting that more than 150 delegates from more Muslim countries will take part in it.
As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to hold meetings in this format on a regular basis to intensify mutual cooperation in the educational sphere.
