Bishkek, Dec.18, 2019. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Dec. 17 Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Slovakia Bakyt Dzhusupov presented credentials to Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the conversation, held at the Grassalkovich Palace, the sides discussed the current pace of development of bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia.
An exchange of views on further development of political and economic cooperation between the two countries took place.
Within the framework of the visit to Bratislava, Ambassador Dzhusupov held bilateral meetings with Secretary General of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Hrivik, Director of the Economic Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Viktor Borecky, and Director of the Department of Specific State Operations at the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia Andrea Holíková.
Martin Hrivik supported the ambassador's proposal to hold a separate business forum, and agreed to provide the necessary assistance in forming a group of businessmen, interested in investing in hydropower, tourism, agriculture and other areas of the economy of Kyrgyzstan.
Viktor Borecky expressed interest in developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. Ambassador Dzhusupov noted the importance of resuming the work on the implementation of the agreement on economic cooperation, providing for the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission, which will serve as one of the main institutional mechanisms for cooperation on trade and economic issues.
At the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia, Bakyt Dzhusupov announced the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to jointly resume work on conclusion of the Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement and organization of negotiations between Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia, including the visit of experts of the Slovak Finance Ministry to Kyrgyzstan.
