Bishkek, Sept. 7, 2017 / Kabar /.Starting from today citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be able to enter Uzbekistan without restrictions through the Dostuk checkpoint in Osh, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan Komil Rashidov told Kabar Agency.
He stressed that while it will be the only checkpoint through which it will be possible to enter the territory of Uzbekistan without telegrams.
“This is the result of the agreements of two presidents. The rules of staying on the territory of Uzbekistan remain unchanged, that is it is necessary to register and then it will be possible to stay there for 60 days,” he said.
The official opening of Dostuk checkpoint was held yesterday, in the south of Kyrgyzstan.
The Dostuk checkpoint had been working since 2000 in a time-limited regime, moreover for the crossing of Kyrgyz-Uzbek border it was required to provide a number of documents like an invitation or a telephone message. Now citizens of two countries will be able to cross the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border in a simplified regime, without presenting additional documents (an invitation or a telephone message).
