Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan presents credentials to president of Finland

Bishkek, Oct. 12, 2023. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Finland with residence in Berlin, Omurbek Tekebaev, presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö on October 11, in the building of the presidential palace in Helsinki.

According to the diplomatic mission, after the solemn ceremony of presenting credentials, the ambassador met with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö, at which topical issues of a bilateral nature were discussed. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for strengthening cooperation in such areas as trade, economics, education, tourism and culture.

During the meeting, Tekebaev also noted the historical connection between Kyrgyzstan and Finland, talking about the meeting of Gustav Mannerheim, the legendary Finnish commander, future President of Finland (1944 -1946), and the Alai Queen - Kurmanzhan Datka in 1906, the history of which remains important part of the common cultural heritage. Noting the historical ties between the two countries, the ambassador emphasized the importance of maintaining and developing these relations.

President Sauli Niinistö expressed gratitude for Kyrgyzstan's initiatives to develop diplomatic relations and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Omurbek Tekebaev and President Sauli Niinistö emphasized the importance of further development of bilateral political and economic cooperation between the countries to achieve mutual goals and interests.
