Ambassador Omuraliev addresses 16th Conference on Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism in Turkey

As part of the work to promote economic diplomacy, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev attended on July 28-29 the 16th conference on ecotourism and sustainable tourism, organized by the International Ecotourism Society (TIES) and Workshop Travelshop in Tokat, Turkey.

During the opening ceremony, Omuraliev gave a presentation about the state and potential of tourism, including ecotourism in Kyrgyzstan with a demonstration of a video clip.

The ambassador highlighted such features of ecotourism as bicycle tours, mountain hiking and mountain climbing, skiing, "dzhailo-tourism", kumysotherapy, and others. Along with this, he drew attention to the estimates of international experts, including recognition by world-renowned media and agencies, which in 2019, 2020 and 2021 included Kyrgyzstan in the top 10 countries for travel.

Inviting the conference participants to Kyrgyzstan, Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed readiness to assist in establishing contacts between tour operators of the two countries.

Representatives of travel companies from Turkey, the United States, India, Pakistan, Iran and other countries expressed interest in organizing tours to Kyrgyzstan.

During the event, the Kyrgyz ambassador met with Tokat Governor Ozan Balcı, Tokat Mayor Eyüp Eroğlu, TIES Executive Director John Bruno, Workshop Travelshop Head Murtaza Kalender, Dedeman Hotel Network President Banu Dedeman, representatives of travel companies and foreign ambassadors.

B2B meetings were also held with tour operators from different countries, where information was provided and brochures and booklets were handed out.
