Ambassador Omuraliyev meets with group of ethnic Kyrgyz in Turkey

Bishkek, June 18, 2020. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev met with a group of ethnic Kyrgyz led by Aitbai Eyupkhan, head of the Uluu Pamir county in Erdzhish area, Van Province and Mukhammet Arif Kutlu, the son of Rahmankul Khan (the last Kyrgyz ruler).

According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's press service, during the meeting, Aitbai Eyupkhan conveyed greetings on behalf of the Uluu Pamir rural community.

He noted that as a result of Omuraliyev's visit to Van Province on June 10-12, 2019, local authorities provided ethnic Kyrgyz with an additional 270 hectares of land for housing and agriculture.

In turn, Ambassador Omuraliyev inquired about the general condition of the people, and was happy to hear that there are no cases of COVID-19 in Uluu Pamir village.

At present, about three thousand ethnic Kyrgyz live in Uluu Pamir village, who have preserved their national traditions and Kyrgyz language.

A small part of "Van" Kyrgyz (about one thousand) lives in Istanbul and in recent years has moved to Ankara (Chubuk) and Yozgat Provinces in central Turkey.
