Bishkek, April 28, 2021. / Kabar /. The Tajik capital of Dushanbe hosted a meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan Zhanysh Rustenbekov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muzaffar Huseynzoda.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The sides agreed on the need to accelerate the process of delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border by intensifying the work of the government delegations of the two countries.
In the course of the meeting, Ambassador Rustenbekov expressed concern that since March of this year, the Embassy has been receiving information from Kyrgyz citizens staying on the territory of Lakhsh District of Tajikistan about the mass passport regime checks of Kyrgyz citizens staying in the said district conducted by law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan.
At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that the existing friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will continue to serve as a basis for further mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening of good neighborliness.
