Ambassador Udovichenko on humanitarian aid received by Kyrgyzstan from Russia in 2021

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2022 . / Kabar / . Relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan have become stronger in the past few years. The coronavirus pandemic has shown that Russia is indeed an important strategic partner in various spheres of relations. During the conference, timed to coincide with Russian Diplomatic Worker Day, Ambassador of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolay Udovichenko summarized 2021 and spoke about the prospects for cooperation between the two states in 2022.

The diplomat noted that Russia continues to provide humanitarian support and last year decided to make an additional financial contribution of $2 million to the UN World Food Program Fund for Kyrgyzstan.

"In addition, in 2021, Russian humanitarian aid under the UN WFP was transferred for a total of $4 million. $1.5 million was transferred for the rehabilitation of social infrastructure facilities in Batken. Regarding assistance in combating the pandemic, in November 2021, 200,000 doses of Sputnik Light vaccine were delivered to Kyrgyzstan on a free basis," Udovichenko added.

The ambassador pointed out that the volume of duty-free supplies of gasoline was increased from 460 thousand to 650 thousand tons and diesel fuel - from 485 thousand to 550 thousand in the fall.
