Bishkek, July 3, 2023. /Kabar/. Analysts of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) predict weakening of the Kyrgyz currency som (KGS) in the medium term.
According to the macroeconomic forecast, the basic scenario, analysts EDB predict the rate of som at the level of 87-89 in 2023. This will be partly contributed by the exchange rate policy of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, aimed at smoothing sharp fluctuations in the dynamics of the som.
In the long run, higher inflation in the Kyrgyz Republic compared to the countries - trading partners will cause depreciation of the som by about 2% per year.
