Andrey Slepnev heads EEC trade block

Bishkek, Mar.3, 2020. /Kabar/. Andrey Slepnev has taken office of Member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). The corresponding decision was taken by heads of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member-states, the EEC press service said.

Andrey Slepnev said he sees strengthening the joint positions of the EAEU member-states with regard to third countries as the main direction of his work.

"We need to strengthen the position of the Union and its member-states in foreign markets, obtain better working conditions in them and expand exports.

I plan to pay special attention to joint Eurasian programs to support our enterprises in foreign markets, including with the use of digital technologies, to conjugate national policies to support exporters. I also expect to intensify work on building partnerships with a number of countries on free trade, getting practical effects for the business of the Eurasian Five from the agreements, already signed with Vietnam, Iran, China and other countries," Slepnev said.

Andrei Slepnev has already served as EEC Trade Minister in 2012-2016.

Until February 2020, he worked as CEO of the Russian Export Center.
