Ankara hosts meeting of Kyrgyz, Turkish foreign ministers

Bishkek, June 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . As part of the official visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current areas of cooperation in the political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

In the year of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two brotherly countries, the two foreign ministers noted with satisfaction the 5th meeting of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation.

Ruslan Kazakbaev stressed the need to implement significant projects that meet the economic potential of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, adding that the parties should make maximum efforts to bring the joint trade turnover to $ 1 billion.

In addition, the Kyrgyz ministers noted with satisfaction the high level of cultural and humanitarian interaction between the countries, and expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to share its experience and provide assistance in organizing the 4th World Nomad Games.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed the constructive dialogue at the level of foreign ministers of the two countries, and expressed the interest of the Turkish side in building close relations with Kyrgyzstan and advancing issues in all areas of joint cooperation.

The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey advocated deepening cooperation and coordination in such areas as foreign policy, defense and security, economy, trade, science and industry, transport, energy, environment and urbanism, health, food security, agriculture and livestock, education, culture, tourism and sports.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed mutual readiness to further develop bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
