Bishkek, Nov.5, 2019. /Kabar/. Annual Republican Autumn Exhibition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding Kyrgyz artist Suimenkul Chokmorov, has opened in Bishkek.
Creativity of the artist Suimenkul Chokmorov has received deserved recognition in the Republic. The most powerful influence on the culture of the country has had a remarkable role in the cinema. (A Shot at the Karash Pass, The Seventh Bullet, Dersu Uzala, Scarlet Poppies of Issyk-Kul, The Red Apple).
The Exhibition amazes with the number and variety of works: the exposition presents paintings, decorative and applied arts, graphics, sculpture, photography.
Works of such artists as Viktor Shestopal, Sabidzhan Babadhanov, Narynkul Turpanov are presented at the Exhibition.
The Exhibition can be divided into two parts: one part is a direct appeal to the personality of Chokmorov to his powerful film characters.
The other part is abstract works that reflect more the spirit, position, credo and philosophy of the artist and actor.
Suimenkul Chokmorov was a Kyrgyz film actor born in Chon Tash village, Kirghiz SSR (now Kyrgyzstan). In 1964 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Arts and later taught painting and composition at the Arts School of Frunze.
