Tashkent, May 19, 2021 . / Kabar / . A new batch of 500,000 doses of the ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 coronavirus vaccine was delivered from China to Tashkent on Wednesday morning, the Uzbek Health Ministry's press service said.
The republic has already received one million doses of the Chinese vaccine. Another million were delivered in April and March. A total of 3.5 million doses of ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccine were delivered to Uzbekistan.
The ZF-UZ-VAC 2001 vaccine is a recombinant vaccine developed by the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and produced by Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical. Its clinical trials were conducted in cooperation with Uzbek scientists.
Later, the company recognized Uzbekistan as co-author in the development of the drug.
Earlier, Uzbekistan also received 660 thousand doses of AstraZeneca /CoviShield/ vaccine and 100 thousand doses of Russian Sputnik V.
According to the Health Ministry’s data, 1.41 million doses of coronavirus vaccine were used in the country from April 1 to May 18.
Of these, 1.12 million people were vaccinated in the first stage and 286,300 in the second.
