Another batch of AstraZeneca vaccine arrives in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 31, 2021 . / Kabar / . Another batch of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine from Azerbaijan arrived on Friday at Manas International Airport.

The free vaccine in the amount of 226 thousand doses was delivered to Kyrgyzstan as part of the global COVAX program.

Consumables for vaccination under this program arrived in April in the amount of 423 thousand syringes and almost 4 thousand special boxes for their safe disposal.

Earlier, on July 16, humanitarian aid in the form of 40,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Kyrgyzstan from Azerbaijan.

As of today, 1 thousand 258 citizens of Kyrgyzstam have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca vaccine.

AstraZeneca vaccine was supposed to arrive in the republic back in March. However, the process of delivering 2.6 million doses of the vaccine was suspended due to numerous reports of side effects.
