Another earthquake recorded on border of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan

Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2020. /Kabar/. 4-magnitude earthquake was registered on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border on Tuesday at 7:49 a.m.

4-magnitude tremors of the moderate quake were felt in Osh city and in number of villages of Kara-Suu region of Osh Oblast, the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic said.

According to preliminary data, no casualties or destructions were reported.

Earlier, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5 was recorded on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on Dec. 26 at 4:28 p.m.

As a result of the quake, cracks appeared in the walls of a school in Sovet village of Kadamjay regions of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast.

In addition, cracks also appeared in the walls of Balastan kindergarten Balastan in the village of Kyshtut, Batken region.

5 houses in the village of Bozoi, one house and a school in Samarkandek village were also damaged.
