Bishkek, April 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . Member of Kyrgyzstan’s freestyle wrestling team Ernazar Akmataliyev won a license to the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
The Olympic qualifying championships are currently underway in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Akmataliyev is competing in the weight category up to 65 kg. His opponents are athletes from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Having defeated them, the Kyrgyzstani advanced to the finals and thereby earned an Olympic license.
Earlier, Greco-Roman wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan Zholaman Sharshenbekov (60kg), Akzhol Makhmudov (77kg), Uzur Zhusupbekov (97kg), Aiperi Medet kyzy (78kg) and Meerim Zhumanazarova (68kg) earned licenses in women's wrestling.
In addition, such notable national athletes as Atabek Azisbekov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Aisuluu Tynybekova (freestyle wrestling), Daria Maslova, Yulia Andreeva and Maria Korobitskaya (track and field) and Denis Petrashov (swimming) also won licenses to the Olympic Games.
