Approximately 4.2 mln people in Kyrgyzstan will get COVID-19, says PM

Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2020. /Kabar/. According to the preliminary forecast of the Scientific Advisory Expert Council of Kyrgyzstan, there are very few cases among children under 9 years of age, and excluding this figures, about 4.2 million people may be infected with COVID-19 coronavirus infection, Prime Minister of the republic Kubatbek Boronov said at a briefing.

He noted that according to open sources, disease of 2/3 of the country’s population is asymptomatic or not sick.

"And every third of 1.4 million people, or 466 thousand people, carry the disease in a mild form without medical treatment," the report says.

A total of 40 thousand 455 cases of novel coronavirus have been identified in Kyrgyzstan so far. Of them, 32 thousand 764 people have recovered, and 1 thousand 478 have passed away.
