Artists of Kyrgyz theatres to go on tour to Russia, says culture minister

Bishkek, Jan.17, 2020. /Kabar/. As part of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, domestic artists of theatre will go on tour to the regions of Russia, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov told reporters.

He said the opening ceremony will be held in the second half of February in Moscow at the Bolshoi Theatre with the participation of presidents of the two countries.

The next day the concert will be open to all comers. Outside of this, cultural tours are planned.

"We will try to take all our theatres to the regions of Russia, these are Kyrgyz and Russian Drama Theatres, Opera and Ballet Theatre, Theatre for Young Spectators and Puppet Theatre. The Satylganov Philharmonic’s full complement will be on tour,” Jamankulov said.

Moreover, according to the minister, exhibitions of artists, film days, master classes and much more will be organized.

The declaration of 2020 Cross Year of Russia and Kyrgyzstan became known during the state visit of Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan at the end of March of 2019.

About 100 political, economic, cultural and humanitarian events are planned within the framework of the Year.
