ARVI morbidity increases in Bishkek, with 24 children in hospital with complications

Bishkek, Nov.27, 2019. /Kabar/. The recent days in Bishkek have seen an increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections, Chief physician of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital Gulzhigit Aaliyev told Kabar.

According to his data, 81 people applied to the hospital yesterday, 41 of them were hospitalized, 17 children and three adults arrived at the hospital with ARVI.

"Mostly children are ill with acute respiratory viral infections, and complications vary from bronchitis to pneumonia. We recently received 24 children with complications, many parents start to treat their children with antibiotics on their own, this is strictly forbidden, ARVI is not treated with antibiotics," Aaliyev said.
