Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . On Saturday, on the eve of Day of Neutrality, established by the UN on the initiative of Turkmenistan and celebrated at the world level on December 12, Ashgabat convened a major international forum, ORIENT reported.
The Ashgabat forum entitled "Policy of Peace and Trust - the Basis of International Security, Stability and Development" was held with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, heads of international and regional organizations, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country and Turkmen envoys abroad.
Speaking at the forum, the Turkmen leader called to a new philosophy of international relations, formed on the basis of healthy and positive pragmatism, universally recognized and close to all human values.
Berdimuhamedov noted the uniqueness of Turkmen neutrality, which is based on modern realities and the historical experience of the people, is aimed at ensuring peace and security in the region and supporting constructive economic and political processes, at resolving contradictions by political, diplomatic and negotiation means.
Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreev, UN Special Representative for Central Asia Natalya German, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat John McGregor and others also spoke at the forum.
OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov, WHO Director General Tedros Adan Gebreisus, Head of the Counter-Terrorism Directorate Vladimir Voronkov, Director General of the UN Office in Geneva Tatyana Valovaya, UN Assistant Secretary General for Europe, Central Asia and America Miroslav Yencha, head of the International Road Transport Union Umberto De Pretto and other leaders of supranational structures joined the forum by video conferencing.
Among the organizations represented in the live list are ESCAP, TRACECA, FAO, UNICEF, the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNFPA.
26 bilateral and multilateral documents were signed on the sidelines of the international forum of peace and confidence.
