Bishkek, March 9, 2021. / Kabar /. During the COVID-19 outbreak, at least one family member in every 5th household (20.4%) of Kyrgyzstan experienced worsened emotional state. This was the conclusion reached by the experts of the National Statistics Committee of the republic.
According to the results of a Cluster Survey on the impact of COVID-19 on children and women in the Kyrgyz Republic, the greatest anxiety was felt in households in Osh city - 38% and Bishkek city - 26.9% and Talas Oblast - 29.4%.
More than 17% of households in which any adult household member felt "very and extremely" depressed, discouraged or hopeless because of news, threats and restrictions related to the coronavirus.
Also, 4.4% of adults surveyed reported having difficulty sleeping during the pandemic, as well as 45.6% reported having minor difficulty sleeping.
