Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2017 / Kabar /. Within the framework of Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev’s state visit to Uzbekistan, Atambayev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held negotiations in an enlarged format, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
Welcoming Atambayev, the Uzbek leader said that in only six months the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan grew 10 times. "And if we remove still existing obstacles, this will give another impulse to our bilateral relations and bilateral cooperation," Mirziyoyev said, and added that today within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum contracts signed worth about $ 200 million. " And this is only the beginning, I think," the Uzbek President said.
The Uzbek leader stressed that the Heads of State gave instructions to prepare six more documents to be signed, in order to finally remove all the issues. "For this there is a political will, we gave instructions that we should sign agreements so that there are no more questions between the countries," Miriziyoyev said.
In turn, Atambayev thanked the President of Uzbekistan for his warm welcome and sincere cordiality.
"I think that the future president of Kyrgyzstan will continue the line that exists today and ensure continuity," Almazbek Atambayev said, expressing the hope that by the end of his presidential term all issues between the countries will be lifted and relevant agreements signed. "I hope that somewhere else in a month we will be able to meet, maybe in Cholpon-Ata, and we can remove all the issues. Today, 12 documents will be signed, we want to sign another five or six. We will not be able to create a new state, but we can work together, there is still a lot of work ahead, which brings benefits to our peoples," Atambayev stressed.
The head of state noted that he wants the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to remain in history as presidents, who made the border of friendship out of the border of conflict, mining and disputes.
