Bishkek, Feb. 28 / Kabar /. "For 25 years the Kyrgyz-Russian relations have reached a new strategic level," President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said today at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in a narrow format.
"We had a chance to discuss our bilateral relations once again. As you know, the presidential election will be held in our country on November 19 of this year, and I already started to summarize in advance. I am very pleased that we were able to return the Kyrgyz-Russian relations back to normal. Moreover, we were able to bring our relations to a new strategic level. To that level, which must be between the brotherly nations," Atambayev said.
From his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the president of Kyrgyzstan during the tenure has done much to improve qualitatively the relations between the two countries. "Today we can discuss the whole range of issues across the board. Kyrgyzstan is the most important partner of Russia. And I am very glad that Russia ranks the first in the trade," Vladimir Putin said and emphasized that today's meeting will be very productive.
