Cholpon-Ata, July 24 / Kabar /. If we give up the Cyrillic alphabet, we will lose our stratum again, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev said at his summer press conference in Cholpon-Ata resort ttown.

"We will lose many writers, we will lose much. No need to play these games and when they say that it is necessary to raise the economy, this is nonsense. I am convinced that we must preserve the Cyrillic alphabet. When we switched to it, we lost the stratum and if we switch to the Latin alphabet after 100 years, we will lose it again," he said.

The President believes that if we give up the Cyrillic alphabet, then the Kyrgyz will tear away from the Tatars, Bashkirs, Khakassians.

Atambayev said that now Kyrgyz can talk to dozens of nations without an interpreter.
