Bishkek, August 3 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev made a statement on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the National Uprising of the Kyrgyz people in 1916.
In his speech the President said that today we pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the tragic events of 1916, we are talking about the lessons of the national liberation uprising of the Kyrgyz people.
“The uprising of 1916 and Urkun awakened the self-awareness, awakened the dignity of the Kyrgyz people. The people received a huge charge of energy, thanks to which the Kyrgyz statehood was revived in the twentieth century. And today Kyrgyzstan is looking to the future as an independent state, defending its national interests, solving the problems of successful development and improving the well-being of citizens,” he said.
President Atambayev called to protect the statehood and freedom as.
“We must remember the past, but live the future,” he said and wished the country peace and prosperity and for the Kyrgyz people unity and prosperity.
