BISHKEK, Aug. 25, 2017 / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev, speaking at the International Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Forum, held at Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek, urged leaders and heads of relevant agencies from the countries of the snow leopard habitat to develop a comprehensive project to preserve its population.
"I take this opportunity to urge leaders and heads of relevant agencies from the countries of the snow leopard habitat to consider and discuss at this forum the possibility of launching a multi-country project for the protection of the snow leopard, its landscapes and ecosystems with the financial support of the Global Fund," the president said.
He said that such project will unite the efforts of all 12 countries of the snow leopard habitat and its high-mountainous ecosystems.
