Atambayev visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque

Bishkek, June 22 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and met with chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, the press service of the President reported.

During the visit, President Atambayev accompanied by Ravil Gainutdin and representatives of the Muslim clergy of Russia, looked round the prayer halls, the conference hall of the mosque, as well as the exhibits of the Islamic Museum located inside the cathedral mosque.

Then Atambayev held a meeting with Ravil Gainutdin.

Greeting the Kyrgyz President, he stressed that the visit of Almazbek Atambayev is a great honor and support. "Your state visit to Russia is very important, and your visit to our mosque is considered brotherly. This is your support of the Muslims of Russia in our activities, "Gainutdin said.

During the meeting, topical issues of interaction between the Muslim clergy of the two countries in counteracting contemporary challenges and threats, primarily radicalism and extremism were discussed.
