Athletes from Kyrgyzstan to compete at winter universiade in Russia

Bishkek, Feb. 28, 2019. /Kabar/. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan will take part in the XXIX World Winter Universiade, which will be held in Russia, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Education and Sports reported.

Competitions will be held in the city of Krasnoyarsk from 2 to 12 March. 76 sets of medals will be played in 11 sports: biathlon, mountain skiing, curling, ski race, snowboarding, orienteering, figure skating, freestyle ice skating, ice hockey, hockey with a ball and short track.

Kyrgyz athletes under the leadership of Kubanych Ermekov will perform in three sports: Maksim Gordeev, Evgeny Timofeev – ski racing, Alexey Vakurin – snowboard, Elzar Abdyrakmanov, Alymbek Kalys uulu – orienteering.

987 thousand soms were allocated from the budget for participation in this event.
