Bishkek, Aug. 10, 2021. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met today with Ambassador of Austria to the Kyrgyz Republic with his residence in Nur-Sultan Willy Kempel.
The press service of the ministry said that during the meeting Kempel presented copies of his credentials the Kyrgyz foreign minister.
Kazakbaev congratulated Kempel on the beginning of his activity as Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic and wished him luck in his future work.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Austria, in particular, the organization of mutual visits at the highest and high levels, the holding of regular inter-ministerial consultations. Kazakbaev noted that next year the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and in this regard suggested the Austrian side to develop a joint Roadmap in all areas of bilateral cooperation. The sides also agreed on the need to take an inventory of the legal framework between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria.
The sides noted the importance of implementing the results of the 7th meeting of the Mixed Kyrgyz-Austrian Commission on Economic Relations, held in 2020, and holding the next meeting of the Commission. Kazakbaev invited the Austrian delegation at a high level to take part in the 1st EU-CA Economic Forum, which will be held on November 5, 2021 in Bishkek. In addition, the sides discussed the possibility of holding a Kyrgyz-Austrian business forum in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Austrian ambassador noted the interest of the Austrian side in the implementation of economic projects in the Kyrgyz Republic, including the possibility of Austria providing "soft" loans (concessional lending) for the implementation of projects in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Kyrgyz minister also noted the importance of further developing cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria in the field of secondary education, strengthening cooperation between the universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and Austria. The Austrian side was also offered to create in Kyrgyzstan the House of Trade, Culture and Education of Austria.
During the conversation, issues of interaction in a multilateral format within the framework of UN institutions were also discussed.
