Bishkek, Sept. 6, 2024. / Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov met with President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC AZAL Samir Rzayev.
The diplomatic mission reported that the meeting was held on the initiative of the embassy, as part of the implementation of the tasks set in the Cooperation Program between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Azerbaijan for 2024-2029, approved by the Decision of the Second Meeting of the Interstate Council of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 24, 2024, signed during the state visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of air transportation in order to facilitate the creation of favorable conditions for the activities of national carriers and the effective use of the current charter flight Bishkek-Baku-Bishkek.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects for expanding cooperation between air carriers and travel agents of Kyrgyzstan and AZAL in the field of air transportation and tourism. The issues of increasing the frequency of flights, the possibility of opening new destinations, taking into account the transit potential of Kyrgyzstan were also discussed.
The ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening air relations between the two countries to promote the strengthening of economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
Samir Rzayev expressed AZAL's readiness for active cooperation and support for initiatives aimed at developing mutually beneficial relations, and also said that next week an AZAL delegation will visit Kyrgyzstan to work out issues of opening a permanent direct flight between Bishkek and Baku by the state air carrier of Azerbaijan - Azerbaijan Airlines.
