Shusha, July 21, 2023. /Kabar/. The opening ceremony of the Global Media Forum on “New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution” was held in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan on Friday.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke at the Forum and answered questions from the participants. The question-and-answer session lasted about three hours. In his remarks, the President of Azerbaijan emphasized that he was sure that the guests would return to their countries with very good results. Proposing to hold the forum on a regular basis, President Ilham Aliyev named it the first Shusha Global Media Forum.
A total of 150 foreign journalists from 49 countries, including state news agencies from 34 countries, 12 international organizations and media institutions, participated in the Forum held in connection with the 148th anniversary of the National Press of Azerbaijan according to the order of President Ilham Aliyev. Sixty local media leaders and representatives are also participating in the Forum.
As part of the forum, it is planned to discuss globally important issues in the field of media, information and communication. The world's well-known and influential media leaders and experts will discuss new tools in journalism and communication in the digital era, digital transformation, media management in the modern information environment and creation of sustainable media business models, consumer trends in new media and media literacy, methods of combating disinformation and fake news, safety of journalists and other issues.
The Non-Aligned Movement Media Platform initiative will also be launched within the framework of the forum.
It should also be noted that the city of Shusha, where numerous international events have already been held, now brings together the heads of the world's leading media and journalistic organizations, influential experts in the field of media, information and communication, and well-known journalists for the first time in the history of independent Azerbaijan.
The forum will conclude its work on July 23.
