Shusha, July 21, 2023. /Kabar/. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev named the support provided by Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan a gesture demonstrating the solidarity.
Answering the question of a journalist of Kabar News Agency during the opening ceremony of the Global Media Forum on “New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution” in Shusha, concerning the support that Azerbaijan received from Central Asian countries in reconstruction after the completion of the Karabakh war, Aliyev stressed that they received support from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
“The school which was generally donated to us by Uzbekistan is under the construction and also the youth art center which was donated by Kazakhstan must be ready at the end of August. These are two signs of the support. This was the very important gesture demonstrating the solidarity,” he added.
The Second Nagorno-Karabakh War was an armed conflict in 2020 that took place in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories. It was a major escalation of an unresolved conflict over the region, involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and the self-declared Armenian breakaway state of Artsakh. The war lasted for 44 days and resulted in Azerbaijani victory.
The restoration and reconstruction work is still underway in Azerbaijan in the liberated territories.
