Bishkek, June 23, 2022. / Kabar /. Mumtalakat Holding Company, the Sovereign Wealth Fund of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its readiness to implement projects in Kyrgyzstan. This became known during a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat Khalid Al-Rumaihi in the city of Manama.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that during the meeting the sides discussed the possibilities for organizing joint work and promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Kulubaev informed the interlocutor about the opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic for investment, geographic location, natural resources and major projects being developed in the field of energy, agriculture, subsoil use and infrastructure development. He also informed about the most priority areas, which are given special attention by the country's leadership and which may be attractive to foreign investors, in particular, the development of ecotourism, the hotel business, the production of drinking water, the export of agricultural products and meat. It was noted that the National Investment Agency was established under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to facilitate the work of investors.
Projects for the construction of roads, schools, hospitals and other projects implemented in the Kyrgyz Republic through the Saudi Development Fund, the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, etc. were given as successful examples of interaction with Arab investment funds.
Kulubaev also stressed the readiness of Kyrgyzstan to develop and strengthen cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, and also informed about the results of earlier meetings with the minister of foreign affairs, the prime minister and other high officials of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
For his part, Al-Rumaihi expressed interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and asked for assistance in organizing further negotiations with the relevant competent state bodies of the country, and also said that he intends to explore the opportunities available for Kyrgyzstan to implement mutually beneficial projects. The sides agreed to continue further contacts for the implementation of joint projects. Jeenbek Kulubaev invited representatives of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Bahrain to visit Kyrgyzstan to get acquainted with the investment potential of the country.
